A goal 7 minutes from time was sufficient to see Fleet Town through to the next Roumd of the Trophy in a game spoilt by a strong breeze. With the wind at their backs in the first half Burnham failed to take advantage of the conditions and it was the visitors who created the better openings. James Pilgrim just put over from a tight angle after a good build up down the Town right while Burnham’s John Munday fired well over from long range. Ex Burnham Lee Ridell failed to hit the target from a free kick just outside the penalty area as Burnham conceded far too many free kicks. Burnham did improve after the interval but failed to put any pressure on Town keeper Andy Baylis. The only goal came on 83 minutes when the Burnham defence failed to clear an attack down the right and SULHAEL ODEH blasted in from close range. Burnham threw men forward but apart from Alex Duffy being denied by a good stop from Baylis after he had been put in by substitute Matt Seedal, Fleet advanced without too many alarms.
