Two evenly matched teams battled out an entertaining draw at The Gore. Visitors Staines Town looked the sharper early on with Lewis Afflick and Jack Battie trying their luck to open the scoring. Burnham livewire  Owen Hunte was always a danger down the right but on 19 minutes Town went ahead. A long clearance from keeper Kyle Merson caught the defenders of Burnham out leaving WARREN HARRIS the simple task to slot home into an unguarded net. Merson then came to the rescue of his side when he dived at the feet of Hunte as the Burnham man found himself clear on goal. Both sides created openings but at the same time both defences worked hard to prevent a score.The second half saw much of the same with Merson again doing well to foil Hunte, defences however in the main were on top. Burnham drew level on 74 minutes, a freekick on the right was delivered into the Town penalty area from the right, which the visitors defence failed to clear, three shots were blocked before the ball eventually fell to BERTIE SQUIRES ADAMS, who netted his first goal for the club. Town forced a number of late corners but could not get a winner and overall a draw I feel was a fair result.
